# Everest USDC Rewards Vault

The Everest Vault is an in-development USDC rewards vault for the Altitude ecosystem.

Altitude has historically paid yield to holders in some form. Originally, this was done through reflections. Later, Altitude moved to USDC rewards through Merkl.

While the Merkl partnership helped Altitude deliver USDC rewards, the custom nature of the Altitude token contract caused repeated issues, including delayed payments and inaccurate UI information such as TVL and APR.

Rather than paying for a closer integration with an external team, the project made the decision to start building more of its own products, where Altitude can have more control.

The Everest Vault is one of those products.
